At Tweed Heads, you certainly won’t be short on sun, sand, and surf. Here you can get amongst it every day with Skills For Life, cooking, fitness, nutrition, and science activities. It doesn’t end there. Social groups include sailing, surfing, after school care, nights out, and events all week. For nurturing new skills, relationships, and experiences, it has to be the Tweed Heads hub.

Manic Monday

Microbusiness
The group work together to create a microbusiness and learn how business work. Bring your business mind and let’s get selling! Microbusiness is all about brainstorming, creating and working together to produce some great products. We will focus on understanding budgeting and increasing our ability to make money and work towards our goals.

Fitness Socials
We’ll head to the local sports grounds and play some group sports with mates. It could be soccer, basketball or cricket. Please wear closed toe shoes, bring a hat, water bottle, morning tea and lunch.

Terrific Tuesday

Volunteer and Work Experience
This program aims to give back to society and our local community. One week we might help out the local businesses and cafes, clean up the beach or community gardens. All with the goal of making a difference. Please wear something casual-smart and bring a hat, water bottle, morning tea and lunch.

Wonderful Wednesday

Water safety, Watersports and Fishing
We’ll learn about water safety, ocean tides and rips, before we go out on paddle boards, swimming, Kayaks to our local creeks and beaches. We’ll also learn to fish and explore the region’s best fishing spots. Master all the basics of fishing from how to tie hooks and what bate to use, types of fish and where we can find them. Going grabbing is also on our list of things to do today. Please wear close toe shoes and bring swimmers, towel, hat, water bottle, morning tea and lunch.

Tremendous Thursday

Cooking and Computer skills $5
Learn to cook and bake easy meals and create a recipe book to be sold at the end of the year. Later, we’ll also build and work on our computer skills. Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a hat, water bottle, morning tea and lunch.

Fantastic Friday

Ladies Sewing Club
This one is for the ladies! Learn basic sewing skills such as threading a needle, sewing a straight stitch, sewing a button, using a pattern, and how to use a sewing machine. Please bring a hat, water bottle, morning tea and lunch.

Tradies Out and About
Calling all the strong lads! Learn how to create and build things and become self-sufficient. Please bring a hat, water bottle, morning tea and lunch.
