School Work Experience

Exclusively designed for schools, colleges and specialist support schools, Sunnyfield’s School Work Experience program offers students with disability aged 16-18 years an opportunity to build specialised skills and gain confidence in a work environment, as they begin to plan for their next stage in life. Kick-start your journey to employment with Sunnyfield.

Hands-on

Work in a commercial environment on a variety of tasks and practice general and industry-specific skills.

Relevance

Build an understanding of basic workplace responsibilities and explore real-world scenarios.

Mentorship

Work alongside a team of experienced co-workers learning first-hand in a professional work environment.

Motivation

Feel inspired and be motived by the industry or career options of your choice.

Progression

Speak to the team about how you can transition into Sunnyfield’s School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) during or at the end of Year 12.

Workplace learning

Sunnyfield’s School Work Experience program runs during NSW school terms and is open to students with disability in years 10, 11 and Year 12, aged 16-18 years. Participants are encouraged to spend time in an industry or role of their choice and develop the necessary skills to successfully perform in the workplace.

Gain Skills

Work experience opportunities

SLES Packaging and operations

General Packaging

Facilitated in an open working environment with the support of 1 or 2 production supervisors, you’ll assist in different stages of production packing including labeling, sealing, packaging, production preparation, parts assembly and more.
Administration and Data Management

Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)

Conducted within a ‘Clean Room’ working environment, tasks may be similar to general packaging but under strict hygiene, temperature controlled and packaging processes. Therefore personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
