The Singleton hub is the adventure central. This is where you can find any activity that strikes your fancy. Grow your life skills with budgeting, travel training, and money skills classes, or get into a more creative space with photography and dance. Unwinding is no big ask either, with break-out spaces to choose from, a technology space, pool table, and our huge outdoor BBQ area. The local Singleton community is yours to explore, so it’s never been easier to nurture your independent streak.
Weekdays 9am to 3pm
Today we head into the community to ‘Open Door’ where we will learn to sew over the next 12 weeks. In the afternoon we’ll engage our brains, and do a range of activities utilising our Skills for Life programs, iPads, or our SMARTBoard.
Let’s take an adventure using public transport, which could be a train, a bus or even a tram. Over the next 12 weeks, we’ll build skills to become independent and learn how to plan to go places using public transport. Please ensure you have a minimum of $15 on your Opal Card every Tuesday. Activity cost of $10 covers lunch.
NOTE: On the 1st Tuesday of each month clients may want to join Bingo in our community.
Workout and Gardening Wednesdays
Kel’s Crew Fitness and Health are coming to our shed to develop an individual fitness program for participants. Over the next 12 weeks let’s turn on muscles we didn’t know we had, learn about fitness, and look at other fitness classes like dancing along the way.
In the afternoon we’ll learn about gardening and decide what we can grow for the season. Let’s explore the different ways in which we can plant vegetables, find out what plants are edible, and grown our own herbs and vegetables to take home.
Trash to treasure $5
We will explore items we want to upcycle, visit second-hand stores around the community and create works of art.
Cookbook cooking $5
We get creative in the kitchen making our own recipe book. You decide what we are going to focus on each month, soups, sweets, deserts maybe even festive meals.
Today’s a fun day before the weekend starts, we will do Yoga or Tai Chi in the morning followed by a short walk. We’ll have a picnic lunch in the park, so bring a packed lunch today, then we’ll take the balls to the park and shoot some hoops followed by a game of soccer. A great day of fun to finish off the week.
