Kurri Kurri Hub
Life at Kurri Kurri is all about fun and friends. It’s a buzzing environment full of group activities and events such as our Skills for Life program, and even tailored personalised programs to suit your specific needs. There’s something going on every day including recycling projects, sewing, fishing, arts, and outdoor men’s group organising meetups all week. Top everything off with an outdoor recreational area, break-out spaces, and kitchen facilities and you’ll always feel right at home.
Weekdays 9am to 3pm
A great way to have fun while exercising, as Tyler brings his enthusiastic energy combined with martial arts moves to get us moving and learning to defend ourselves. At the end of each month, we’ll go for a Bongo Fit session.
Gym Gods and green machines
Gym Gods $5
Summer is just around the corner, so let’s start working to put the fittest versions of ourselves on the beach. Heading to our local gym one week and then meeting up with our green machine friends to play a round of tennis the next week.
Green machines $5
Approaching our local community we will collect and deposit recyclable goods. Saving up all our money for purchasing equipment for the hub or for exciting group adventures. This program run fortnightly, on the second week we’ll head to the courts and playing a round of tennis.
Healthy hearts and photography
Healthy hearts $5 to $15
With so many forms of exercise out there, we’ll take out time to research different forms of sports and then head off to participate in them.
Exploring our local area and beyond, we’ll take our cameras and iPad to capture all the beauty this world has to offer. At the end of our program, we’ll have our pictures framed and invite our family to come and view them at our own pop-up art gallery.
Woodwork and cultural warriors
Woodwork $5 to $15
What do birdfeeders, toolbox’s and chopping boards have in common? They are made of wood. Working with wood over the duration of the program, we’ll be making wood items that can be taken to the markets and be sold.
Cultural warriors $5 to $15
The Hunter Valley and Newcastle have a diverse cultural histories. In this activity, we’re going to explore our local cultural history, visit different historic sites, museums, and libraries for research. Costs for this activity will vary.
Friday frolics and ladies day
Friday frolics $5 to $15
This Friday program is for those of us that can’t sit still, and can’t choose just one thing. We’ll get out and about each Friday to utilise the hub’s extensive sporting gear in a variety of different locations. Every week will be a new adventure, and once a month we’ll head to a new exciting destination.
Ladies’ day $10
Our ladies’ day is designed to be a supportive, educational and fun environment for women. We’ll expand our social networks, and meet up with our friends from the Maitland hub in various locations each week.
