Supported Employment at Sunnyfield Enterprises

Employment opportunities are available in our Packaging and Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) businesses.

We provide disability employment services for 300 supported employees at our three sites in Allambie Heights, Chatswood and Mount Druitt.

There are lots of types of work that you can be involved in, these include:

  • Warehouse distribution and mailing services
  • Customised and standard assembly
  • Clean room packaging/filling pharmaceutical products

Eligibility

To be eligible for supported employment you will need to be:

  • registered with Centrelink
  • qualify for a Disability Support Pension
  • able to work from 3 to 5 days a week between 8am and 4pm
  • able to work safely in a commercial factory environment.

Training and Development

Our employees also have the opportunity to participate in the Workplace training program which includes the following topics (as examples):

  • Workplace Health & Safety
  • Understanding Neglect & Abuse
  • Bully Free Workplace and Cyberspace Bullying
  • Controlling Emotions and Anger Management
  • Workplace Communications & Career Plans

 

 

Transition to Work (TTW) 

 

If you are completing year 12 at school, our Transition to Work Program will prepare you to transition to a working life and young adulthood.

  • Individually tailored 2 year program
  • Gain on the job work experience in a variety of industries according to your interests
  • Help you plan and realise your employment goals for open or supported employment
  • Learn work skills and independent living skills to become a confident young adult


Our Transition to Work program is available in Chatswood and Mount Druitt.

 

We will assist you to assess your current skills against the criteria for supported and open employment and plan your goals. Each person will develop their own individual plan for the two year program and this is reviewed at least every 6 months to make sure that we are working towards achieving your goals.

Our program includes training in Certificate 1 Work Skills for Life, covering topics such as:

  • Workplace Health and Safety
  • Communication
  • Money management
  • Job seeking skills
  • Travel training to encourage you to use public transport and community travel options

You will have the opportunity to follow your interest in different areas; these may include hospitality, retail, horticulture, manufacturing or business administration.

If you are part of the TTW program there are no daily fees, however you might need to contribute to the cost of social activities or additional courses that you undertake. For example, we can help you to access TAFE of other Vocational Courses if you are eligible.
