Thank you to Sunnyfield Supporters

Celebrating 65 Years

Fundraising is a pillar on which Sunnyfield was built upon. 65 years ago, 18 families from Sydney’s Northern Beaches came together and in an extraordinary effort, raised funds to build the first Sunnyfield School. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and local communities, businesses and individuals are still supporting Sunnyfield through donations, gifts in kind and volunteering their valuable time.

To mark our 65th anniversary, each month we would like to acknowledge some of the wonderful supporters who have directly contributed to Sunnyfield’s mission of enriching the lives of people with disability by creating choice, opportunities and skills for life.

If you are interested in fundraising for Sunnyfield, find out more about different opportunities here.

May: Lions Clubs of the Northern Beaches

Lions Clubs from the Northern Beaches have played a crucial role in Sunnyfield’s journey, dating back to the 1960s. Their impact has included everything from setting up fences and grass ovals at Sunnyfield sites, to organising fetes and raising funds for cars.

In particular, the Lions Clubs of the Northern Beaches have continually supported Sunnyfield’s transport needs. In 1969 the Brookvale Lions Club donated a Toyota bus, and the Balgowlah Lions Club, Frenchs Forest Lions Club and the Australian Lions Foundation have recently raised funds for a 7 seater Toyota Prius which was celebrated this month!

Thank you to the Lions Clubs of the Northern Beaches for your continued support throughout Sunnyfield’s history. Your generosity has had an enormous impact on people with disability and will continue to do so in the future.

April: Sunnyfield Members Auxiliary

The Sunnyfield Members Auxiliary have held barbecues at Bunnings Belrose every month since August 2012. In that time they have raised over $34,000 which has funded new chairs at Enterprises, a bathroom upgrade, white goods, Christmas gifts and more.

A lot of work takes place behind the scenes to make these barbecues a success, including countless hours prepping sausages, cutting up onions and purchasing supplies.

A big thank you to all members of Sunnyfield Auxiliary for your commitment and dedication. We really appreciate all of your hard work for people with disability!

Sunnyfield Members Auxiliary is made up of: John Cavanagh, David Downes, Peter Fishburn and Anne O’Connell, John and Sue Garland, Chris and Cindy Howells, Deb Hunter, Mike Mabbott, Brien and Janice Mendham, Frank Renwick, Julian and Sandy Smithers.

March: Bill Buckle Auto Group

Bill Buckle has supported Sunnyfield in many ways for over 40 years, including sponsoring the Sunnyfield 65th Anniversary dinner this month.

For the Northern Beaches based Bill Buckle Auto Group, supporting Sunnyfield is supporting their local community. Their contributions towards Sunnyfield’s transport needs have had an enormous impact on the lives of people with disability.

Thank you Bill Buckle Auto Group for supporting Sunnyfield as a part of your local community.  We appreciate your ongoing and generous support for people with disability.

February: Bunnings

Bunnings have generously supported Sunnyfield through the donation of equipment, tools and their expertise to cheer up Sunnyfield homes and community services hubs.

In 2016 alone, the Bunnings stores at Balgowlah, Campbelltown, Lakehaven and Warringah Mall have donated barbecues, gas bottles, paint supplies, gardening supplies, cleaning chemicals, tarps, toolboxes and more!

Thank you Bunnings for making a positive impact on the lives of people with disability.  We appreciate your ongoing and generous support.
