Michael’s Kicking Goals in His New Town

October 23, 2025

After moving from Tamworth, Michael has embraced life at the Gunnedah Hub — making friends, enjoying sports, and building skills for independence.

Michael recently celebrated more than 12 months as a proud Gunnedah local, and he’s certainly found his stride. Since joining the Sunnyfield Gunnedah Hub, he has thrown himself into the activities on offer and embraced every chance to connect with others.

A true social butterfly, Michael has quickly made plenty of friends in his new town. His days at the hub are filled with sports, games and hands-on activities, while he continues to build important life skills like budgeting, money handling and cooking — skills he’s already putting to good use at home and in the community.

Sport is one of Michael’s biggest passions. Soccer, cricket, tennis, bowling — you name it, he’s always ready for a game. And his next big step? Becoming a volunteer so he can give back to the community he loves.

Michael’s journey shows the power of connection, learning and opportunity at Sunnyfield, where clients are supported to live life to the fullest.
