At Maitland Lifestyle Hub, participants have been busy crafting an impressive range of handcrafted woodwork. From bird stands and restored furniture to games and decorative pieces, their creativity and craftsmanship are on full display.
Clinton has been part of the woodwork program for the past three terms, developing his skills and confidence with every project. He takes great pride in each piece he creates and enjoys showing off his finished work, knowing the time, care and dedication that has gone into every detail. The program has given him the opportunity to learn new skills while expressing his creativity in a meaningful way.
The program is led by Ben, who first joined Sunnyfield as a volunteer, bringing with him a passion for woodworking and a desire to share his knowledge with others. Today, Ben continues to inspire participants, encouraging them to build practical skills, grow in confidence and experience the satisfaction of creating something with their own hands.
Many of the handcrafted items produced through the program also contribute to Sunnyfield’s Micro Hub business, where participants create and sell their products to the local community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to turn creativity into purpose while developing valuable workplace and enterprise skills.
