Lisa is shining at the Aspire Café

September 16, 2025

For Lisa Jamieson, working in a café is the fulfilment of a lifelong dream. Now a full-time team member at Sunnyfield’s Aspire Café, Lisa is loving her new job and the support she is receiving from her workmates and happy customers.

“All she ever wanted to do from the time she was a little girl is to work in a café,” her mother, Barbara, shares. That dream began in high school when Lisa worked briefly at McDonald’s and grew through volunteer roles at St Matthews Church Café in Manly. After many years in Sunnyfield’s packaging department, the chance to join Aspire Café earlier this year was the perfect next step — and Lisa hasn’t looked back.

Now, Lisa brings enthusiasm to every shift, whether preparing food, serving peers, or supporting her teammates. At home, she continues her passion for cooking, often sharing her gluten-free brownies and cookies with colleagues.

“I like meeting new people and helping serve customers,” Lisa says. “I like learning new skills from Bianca (Café Supervisor), including her brownies and homemade lasagna.”

For Lisa, Aspire Café isn’t just a workplace — it’s her dream job.
