Community ServicesEssential disability supports
Here’s what we’re doing at Sunnyfield Community Services.
At Sunnyfield we take the safety and health of our clients, families, guardians, carers and staff very seriously.
We understand that as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, people with disability and their families will still require essential services and supports.
That’s why we’d like to reassure you that during this time, Sunnyfield Community Services will remain open for as long as we can, to provide support in a safe and quality environment in accordance with government guidelines.
It won’t be business as usual and unfortunately we may have to say ‘no’ to some supports. But here’s what we’ve introduced to continue providing essential disability supports for clients.
How we can support you
To help you through the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunnyfield is introducing our Care-at-Home service. Provided by our qualified and trained staff, Care-at-Home brings the expertise and experience of Sunnyfield into your home.
Care-at-Home can include: 1:1 support in your home including social interaction, Skills-for-Life training or assistance with physical activities. Access to daily phone/online check-in to check how are you feeling or if you need any other support. Grocery shopping and delivery to your front door, assistance with meal preparation or assistance with home cleaning.
In the center
We’ve introduced new hygiene practices to help fight COVID-19 and regular cleaning schedules every two hours.
We’ve reviewed all Sunnyfield Hubs to identify maximum capacity based on the social distancing rules focussing on utilising all space and rooms available in each Hub.
We’re breaking all centre-based activities into smaller groups, in accordance with government guidelines.
In the community
We’re reducing all community access and social group programs and limiting activities to outdoor areas such as parks, in accordance with government guidelines.
We’re applying the social distancing rules across all social group programs.
We’ve cancelled all trips to indoor locations like bowling, shopping malls and movies.
