What is the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Yoga-1The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new funding scheme to support people with disability, their families and carers. Designed by the Federal Government, the NDIS uses an insurance approach, much like Medicare.

Through the NDIS, clients will receive individual funding that they can take with them wherever they live in Australia.

My First Plan

Under the NDIS, people with disability that are currently funded by ADHC will only receive funding for reasonable and necessary supports. This means under the new process the NDIS will use a set of pre-determined questions to understand the current funded supports a person with disability receives and identify any significant gaps within the 12 month timeframe of the first plan.

Participants who already have an NDIS Plan

If you already have your NDIS Plan and would like to find out more about Sunnyfield supports and services in your area, please contact our Client Engagement Team on 1300 588 688 or email: NDIS@sunnyfield.org.au

What it means for people with disability

The NDIS empowers people with disability to plan for the lives they want. Through the ‘My First Plan’ process, the NDIS will use a set of pre-determined questions to understand the current funded supports a person with disability receives and identify any significant gaps within the 12 month timeframe of the first plan.

Eligible clients will receive individual funding to support their plan. As well as choosing the services, clients can also decide when, where and how they receive them.

As an approved NDIS service provider, Sunnyfield looks forward to supporting clients through the transition and ongoing, so they can lead fulfilling lives.
