NDIS roll out in the Nepean Blue Mountains

The NDIS arrives in Nepean Blue Mountains area from the 1st of July for those aged under 17. The focus will be on early intervention so that young people with disability can attend mainstream schools, engage in community activities and participate fully in life. Assistance with access and planning and community engagement forums will be provided. From September, up to 2000 children and young people will receive individualised NDIS plans.

To access the NDIS in Nepean Blue Mountains you need to be:

  • Aged under 17 years with a permanent impairment or condition that prevents independent participation in everyday activities.
  • Under six years old with developmental delay.
  • Live in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow or Penrith.

*Further phasing details for the NDIS is being negotiated between the Commonwealth and NSW governments and is expected to be known before the 1st of July 2015.
